Exciting Upcoming Event: Finding the Filipino Rough Riders of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West
The Arts and Sciences Honors Program is pleased to present another installment of the Distinguished Lecture Series. The Distinguished Lecture Series aims to connect esteemed professors and experts in their fields with the CU undergraduate community. These events are not only informative, but fun and are an excellent place to discover the honors community.
On Thursday, March 10th from 5pm – 6pm, please join CU professors Emmanuel David (Women and Gender Studies) and Yumi Janairo Roth (Art and Art History) to discuss their interdisciplinary project about the untold story of Filipino performers in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. They reflect on the process of collaborating with one another and discovering the hidden histories of the Filipino men and women who performed as part of the Congress of Rough Riders of the World. By examining Asian presence in the show, their research and creative work offers new perspectives on histories of the American West. All CU Boulder faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend this free event!
