Check out the Spring 2021 Be Involved Fair!
Welcome, everyone, to the Spring 2021 semester! With 2020 now behind us, the future looks optimistic: COVID vaccines are on the rise, our nation’s political unrest is simmering down, and the future looks bright. That being said, while CU Boulder plans on transitioning to an in-person learning format later in the semester, students and faculty are currently tasked with maintaining a virtualized community. For some, returning to this digitalized environment may be overwhelming, but there are several events that can help counteract such pressures. One such event is the Spring 2021 Be Involved Fair, and it’s almost here!
What is it?
CU Boulder’s Be Involved Fair is an event hosted by the Center for Student Involvement & Volunteer Resource Center that occurs at the beginning of every semester. Essentially, it is a gathering of various CU organizations, clubs, and extracurricular groups who are are seeking out like-minded students. Rather than following a linear approach, this event is quite dynamic; students can pick and choose which groups they’d like to learn more about and focus solely on growing acquainted with those ones. Although it will be virtual this semester, the goal stays the same: to encourage students to explore their interests and experience CU Boulder’s unique atmosphere.
When is it?
The Spring 2021 Be Involved Fair will take place on January 26 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Since it is strictly virtual, all attendees can access the event through the CU Boulder HeySummit page. This will likely be much less of a hassle; attend from the comfort of your own home!
Who can attend?
Although a majority of attendees are first-year students or transfer students, anyone associated with CU Boulder can attend. It is not specific to any academic year or major! Having such a wide scope makes this fair incredibly diverse and a good experience for all CU affiliates.
Why should I go?
This semester’s Be Involved Fair may sound lackluster with its virtual platform, but it will be far from it. There are roughly 116 organizations in attendance that span over 20 different categories, and it’s all happening in just a couple of hours. Consider going, for it can give you an uninhibited sense of college community and get you acclimated to CU’s (temporarily) hybrid campus life. This event can also assist you in building relationships with other individuals, interesting clubs, or outside organizations. Just remember that the Be Involved Fair is here to help you explore the vast possibilities of life as a CU Buff. Whether it be social, academic, or professional, there is something here for everyone.
