Make Change: Your Voices Matter
In the wake of recent events, many of you are likely attuned to the systemic racism that plagues our nation. The outlets of such injustice–including police brutality–are sinister and have occurred for far too long. At this time, we believe the lives of George Floyd and all other victims of racially-charged hate crimes have not gone, and will not go, unnoticed. Every one of us has a part to play in both stopping the heinous oppression of minorities and securing a better tomorrow. For all peoples.
As you are likely aware, there have been numerous movements in response to the killings of George Floyd and many others. The Honors Program Student Advisory Board has met repeatedly to discuss potential actions our program can take to combat racism and support those who experience racism and marginalization. To this end, we have created an anonymous survey encouraging feedback and ideas from the members of the Honors Scholars Program on ways in which we can improve the inclusivity of our program and bolster the antiracist environment of CU Boulder.
We, the Honors Program Student Advisory Board, value diversity, inclusion, and respect, and we condemn all forms of racism. We strive to foster an environment in which all are welcome within our community. We are committed to taking action against racism and other forms of marginalization.
Here is the link to our survey. Though the survey is anonymous, it requires an @colorado.edu email address; if you are denied access, please log into Google with your CU credentials and try again. Thank you for taking the time to express your ideas and feedback. If you would like to follow up or have any further questions, please email us at honorsscholars@colorado.edu.
We can each make a difference by ourselves, but we can make a change together.
