Get Your Community Service Hours With The Volunteer Resource Center
As an Honors Scholar, you are required to complete 5 hours of community service each semester, organized by either the Honors Program or independently. Participating in one Honors Program community service event fills this requirement. If you decide to partake in your own, be sure to submit it on the form on our Canvas page. We are excited to hear about your meaningful experiences!
Honors Program community service events will be posted later this month, but in the mean time, learn how you can craft your own community service experience through CU’s Volunteer Resource Center!
There are many ongoing opportunities on their website. The calendar contains volunteer opportunities most days of the week with quick and easy instructions on how to participate. For example, this upcoming Friday September 21, “Volunteers are needed for the ZEE Jaipur Literature (JLF) Festival Sept. 21 to 23 at the Main Boulder Public Library.” Work towards your Honors Scholars community service hours while being surrounded by academics throughout the country? Sign me up!
You can also sign up for the Volunteer Resource Center Newsletter on their Events page and get community service opportunities sent right to your inbox.
The Honors Student Advisory Board created the Honors Scholars Program with the intention to make community service an essential part of the Honors Scholar experience. Doing good in your community is an important aspect of what it means to be an Honors student at CU.
