The first event of the year is this Thursday, September 7th at 6:00pm in the UMC Aspen Rooms. Dr. Owens will be showing and analyzing an episode of The Handmaid’s Tale. See you there!
To end this blog, I thought I’d provide you with interesting quick facts to think about in between classes:
- Despite popular belief, CU Boulder’s room and board is not as expensive in respect to other universities as you might think. Rutgers University in New Jersey charges $18,090 for room and board! CU’s $13,998 doesn’t look as bad now, right?
- The Rocky Mountain Showdown had the largest attendance back in 2003 with a total of 76,219 people cheering in the stands.
- Robert Redford was a janitor at the Sink.
- The Dushanbe Teahouse was a gift from the mayor of Dushanbe, Tajikistan which is Boulder’s sister city.
- CU’s football team is one of two division one teams to complete a 5th down conversion.
- The most hated food collectively in Colorado is flaming hot Cheetos.
- The Honors Scholars Program graduated their first generation of scholars in May of 2017.
- James Bond is the world’s most famous spy…isn’t that ironic in its own sense?
- The next total solar eclipse over the United States will occur April 8th, 2024.
- Alfred Packer Restaurant & Grill celebrates a cannibal who lived during the Colorado Gold Rush era.
