Introducing Ava Berrier
Hello, I am Ava Berrier, and I am from Pueblo West, Colorado. I am currently a freshman at the University of Colorado majoring in Integrative Physiology and Biochemistry. With these degrees, I plan on attending medical school and becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon. As for extracurricular activities, I am a member of Alpha Elipson Delta, 9Health Fair, and now the Honors Student Advisory Board!
Besides academia, I LOVE working out and outdoor activities. I currently lift weights around six times a week and incorporate running two to three times a week. I enjoy playing volleyball, hiking, and gardening. I also spend a lot of time volunteering for organizations like 9Health Fair, the Arthritis Foundation, and Relay for Life. Other random fun facts about me include my love for country music and artists Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and Tim McGraw. I am currently obsessed with Carrie Underwood’s new song “Heartbeat,” and I wish I was attending her concert at the Pepsi Center in March! I’m not much of a reader, but my all time favorite book is the Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, and if I am not studying or working out, chances are I am watching How I Met Your Mother.
I am so excited to be a part of the Honors Student Advisory Board and impact the CU Boulder community. I know that coming in as a freshman, college is a HUGE transition. However, through the Honors RAP, I really value the sense of community you develop on CU Boulder’s campus. I hope to continue to help others become active members in CU Boulders community through our own Honors Events like TV with a Prof, Coffee Hours, and much more!
Stay tuned CU Boulder! The Honor’s Board is going to hold amazing events!
